Each child is different—as are the challenges each child has; but what is a “challenging behavior and what can we do about them?” Learn how to use PBS to assess a child’s behavior in relation to her current social, emotional, and physical development. Positive Behavior Supports: Socio-Emotional Development

In this two part session, PBS: Socio-Emotional Development introduces the importance of intentionally teaching social and emotional skills, helps participants identify strategies for supporting the development of friendships between children, defines emotional literacy and identifies activities to build “feeling vocabularies”.  In part two of a two-part session, providers learn the importance of providing opportunities for children to begin to understand their own emotions, the emotions of others and ways they can help children learn to control anger, identify strategies for anger management, and problem solve in a positive way.

Ramps & Pathways: A Constructivist Approach to Physical Science

Join Dr. Betty Zan in a two-part session, as she introduces participants to the “inquiry-based” approach to science, and how it is the best way to support children’s learning.
